Increasing Collaboration with BPOM RI, PT Bintang Toedjoe Supports the UMKM Foster Parent Program (OTA)
Bandung, October 16, 2024 – PT Bintang Toedjoe attended the Business Forum organized by BPOM RI which took place at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung City, West Java. The purpose of PT Bintang Toedjoe attending this forum is to support the program implemented by BPOM RI by becoming an UMKM Foster Parent to advance UMKM in Indonesia.
Themed "Strengthening the Capacity and Competitiveness of the Indonesian Drug and Food Industry and UMKM", this event was opened with a warm welcome from Taruna Ikrar as the Head of BPOM RI (Food and Drug Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia). Continued with the signing of a commitment to cooperation between the UMKM Foster Parents and the UMKM Adopted Children. In addition, this event was also enlivened by various Talk shows and In-depth Discussions about UMKM.
At the welcoming moment of the Head of BPOM RI, Taruna conveyed the importance of BPOM's role in supervising the industry in the fields of Medicine, Natural Medicine, Food, and Cosmetics because life is inseparable from all of these things. In terms of the economy, BPOM RI also controls the prices of medicines and cosmetics so that their prices remain controlled on the market.
On this occasion, PT Bintang Toedjoe as the Adoptive Parent of Natural Medicine fully supports BPOM's program to strengthen the competitiveness of UMKMs in Indonesia. "PT Bintang Toedjoe has become a foster parent with a close look system, namely through its subsidiary, PT Global Usadha Arana (PT GUA) by developing farmer partners. After producing quality materials, we will later buy the materials to be used as raw materials for making PT Bintang Toedjoe products, namely BEJO Jahe Merah," said Fanny Kurniati, President Director of PT Bintang Toedjoe.

As a form of collaboration and support for BPOM, PT Bintang Toedjoe is currently expanding the system as a Foster Parent, namely with a one-way system through coaching and mentoring for small UMKMs in terms of CPOTB (Good Manufacturing Practices of Traditional Medicine) until they can register their products.
By participating in the BPOM RI Business Forum, PT Bintang Toedjoe collaborates with all Foster Parents of Natural Medicines and Cosmetics to increase the capacity and competitiveness of UMKMs in Indonesia.
