PANGKALPINANG - PT Bintang Toedjoe through the Komix Herbal brand again held a Goes To School Talkshow, this time targeted the pharmacy vocational school, namely SMKN 5 Pangkalpinang. This roadshow concept activity once again educates about medicine and herbs and was attended by students representing organizations, Tuesday (11/19/2024).

Titled Healthy Generation Herbal Generation, this talkshow with Komix Herbal collaborates with a number of speakers, namely the PC Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia Kota Pangkalpinang, Balai POM Pangkalpinang, Bangka Pos, and BNNK Pangkalpinang.

Here the speakers conveyed information according to their fields, apt. Bernadus Reco, Chairperson of the PC IAI Kota Pangkal Pinang explained self-medication of drugs and herbs. Moreover, chemical drugs and herbal medicines work differently. "The way herbs work is more to encourage the body to improve its health, then eliminate the disease. So on average herbal medicines do not have an immediate effect, but require a process," he explained. Therefore, Reco added to be more careful when taking herbal medicines that immediately give an instant reaction.

The speaker from the Balai POM Pangkalpinang , M. Herpi Akbar said that natural medicines that were to be used should be screened first with CEK KLIK, namely Check Packaging, Label, Marketing Authorization, and Expiration Date. Herpi also invited participants to do CEK KLIK together through the BPOM check website or through BPOM Mobile.

The Komix Herbal product was also checked with the participants and the results were in accordance with herbal medicine standards and the information that appeared from the BPOM check was in accordance with the product information. In addition, the benefits of herbal products that have been registered with BPOM will not be over claimed. "If it is registered with BPOM, the claim of the products is only like this Komix Herbal, helping to relieve coughs with phlegm. But if it is not registered, the claims can vary," he said.

Meanwhile, the editor in chief of Bangka Pos, Ade Mayasanto invited Gen-Z not to easily believe hoaxes and spread fake news in the media, even the sanctions that will be obtained if proven guilty. "When spreading fake news, you can be subject to Article 28 paragraph 1 of the ITE Law with a criminal sentence of 6 years and/or a fine of up to 1 billion Rupiah. Be careful sharing information in the media, you must  think first about the news and information obtained, whether it is true or not," he explained.

Then Gustina Oktavia, Counselor from the BNNK Pangkalpinang  conveyed the dangers of misuse of psychoactive substances, the role of students in supporting the P4GN campaign and staying away from drugs to build a healthy future with herbs. The talk show activity took place interactively with the enthusiasm of students through questions and answers to the speakers.

Head of LOB 2 & Public Relations of PT Bintang Toedjoe, Andry Mahyudi in his speech explained why talk about herbs. As we know that Korea has ginseng that is very world-famous. So our dream Bintang Toedjoe is how to make this red ginger one of Indonesia's native herbal plants that has great potential to go global. In addition, the advancement of digital technology and AI has recently played an extraordinary role, but on the other hand it can also cause legal problems and the snares of the ITE Law. So it is not surprising that the advancement of digital technology is like a double-edged sword, the hope is that with herbal education from various sources, Gen-Z will be wiser about information by filtering before sharing.

Komix Herbal is a herbal cough medicine made from natural red ginger and lagundi leaves. Lagundi leaves (Vitex Negundo) are one of the herbs that contain active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and triterpenoids which have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and expectorant effects. Because of these efficacies, lagundi leaves have been used in traditional medicine to relieve coughs.
