PT Bintang Toedjoe Supports RW 017 Klender Residents in Creating a Cleaner Environment through Waste Management and Composting Training



Klender, Duren Sawit – August 7, 2025 – As a commitment to environmental preservation and community development, PT Bintang Toedjoe, through its Community Development (COMDEV) program, organized a Waste Management and Composting Training in RW 017, Klender Urban Village, Duren Sawit Subdistrict, on Wednesday, August 7, 2025. The initiative received full support from the Environmental Agency of Jakarta Provincial.

The event began with opening remarks from a representative of Klender Urban Village, followed by the Head of RW 017, and continued with a speech from PT Bintang Toedjoe. In her remarks, Evanie Noer Putri, Public Relations & Community Development Manager at PT Bintang Toedjoe, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to consistently contributing to sustainable environmental programs. Representatives from the Jakarta Provincial Environmental Agency were also present to provide guidance and express appreciation to the participating residents.

Education and Practical Action for the Environment
With the theme “Recycle Today for a Better Tomorrow,” the training focused on converting organic waste into compost with circular economic value, as well as optimizing household waste segregation to maintain environmental cleanliness.

Participants received training on:

·        Types of waste: inorganic, organic, hazardous, and residual waste.

·        Sorting techniques by category to facilitate recycling processes.

·        Processing organic waste into compost fertilizer.

·        Utilizing waste banks to generate additional economic value from waste.



Beyond theory, residents also participated in hands-on simulations, creating compost from dry leaves using composting bins provided by PT Bintang Toedjoe.

Benefits for the Community
Through this training, RW 017 residents are expected to:

·        Prevent water, air, and soil pollution.

·        Produce organic fertilizer for ornamental plants and home gardens.

·        Reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills.

·        Increase income through the sale of compost and recycled products.
