PT Bintang Toedjoe through the Komix Herbal brand again held a Talkshow Goes To School, which this time took place at SMKN 2 Makassar. This roadshow concept activity educated about medicine and herbs. This activity was attended by students representing organizations on Friday (11/15/2024).

Titled Healthy Generation Herbal Generation, this talkshow with Komix Herbal collaborates with several number of speakers, namely the PD of Pharmacist Association of  Traditional Medicine Seminar, BPOM in Makassar, BNNP of South Sulawesi, and Tribun Timur. Here the speakers convey information according to their fields, apt. Sulaiman, Chairperson of the PD of Pharmacist Association of  Traditional Medicine Seminar conveyed the character of self-medication of medicine and herbs across generations, from the boomer generation to Gen-Z generation. "Each generation has different characteristics, related to self-medication of DAGUSIBU medicine and herbs," he said. Therefore,  in Obtaining (Dapatkan), Using (Gunakan), Storing (Simpan), and Disposing (Buang) (DAGUSIBU) medicines and herbs, it is necessary to be supported by the right information.

The speaker from BPOM in Makassar, Ana Adriani said, using medicines and herbs still urgent to check the packaging, labels, marketing autorization and expiration dates. "In the use of drugs and herbs must be clear by doing CEK KLIK and the BPOM Mobile application," he explained. In between materials, Komix Herbal products were also checked with participants and the results were in accordance with herbal medicine standards.

The existence of BPOM Mobile makes it easier for Gen-Z and the public to know detailed information about herbal medicines, especially if there are hoaxes or fake herbal medicines. Meanwhile, the editor-in-chief of Tribun Timur, Thamzil Thahir invited students to be able to distinguish between facts and opinions in order to be wiser and healthier in the media. "Facts are originality, Gen-Z needs to be able to distinguish between facts and opinions, that is very important," he said.

Then Heru Arfianto, Counselor from BNNP South Sulawesi conveyed, regarding the dangers of misuse of psychoactive substances, the role of students in supporting the P4GN campaign and staying away from drugs to build a healthy future with herbs. The talk show activity took place interactively with the enthusiasm of students through questions and answers to the speakers.

Head of Marketing PT Bintang Toedjoe, Arwin Nugraha Hutasoit in his speech hoped that the herbal and medicine education activities presenting various speakers could inspire students to become a healthy generation, including being healthy in social media so that the information received and disseminated has a positive impact.

Komix Herbal is a herbal cough medicine made from natural red ginger and lagundi leaves. Lagundi leaves (Vitex Negundo) are one of the herbs that contain active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and triterpenoids which have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and expectorant properties. Because of these properties, lagundi leaves have been used in traditional medicine to relieve coughs.
